I have seen the occasional possum here, but never a raccoon; no doubt, though, that we must have some.
So far, we are winning this battle. The bird feeder is aptly named "Squirrel Buster" and does keep them from gorging on the seeds.
But, as you might know, squirrels are some of my favorite animals, so much so, that a squirrel (Grey) is a main character in my novel. :)
Blessings to you!Martha Jane Orlandohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11620499267401065780noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9009456656795153408.post-34744513594398721042012-09-23T14:59:51.852-07:002012-09-23T14:59:51.852-07:00When I still lived at home, out in the country wit...When I still lived at home, out in the country with my Mom, we had all manner of critters. Our property is high up on a ridge in East TN, and is surrounded by very large tracts of forest. Foxes, deer, possums, the occasional bear, and when I still living at home...raccoons. They, along with squirrels, are the most clever critters when it comes to foiling the best laid plans of bird feeding humans! No matter what we tried, the raccoons and squirrels always won the day. It became a humorous contest of wits and will, and eventually we had to hire a company to trap the raccoons and take them up to the mountains to release them. They were getting too comfortable and aggressive around our family pets, but oh my goodness, they provided some hilarious moments! :)

- DawnHealing Morninghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03236609802381940498noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9009456656795153408.post-21032314751331422702012-09-22T04:32:41.206-07:002012-09-22T04:32:41.206-07:00Thanks so much for visiting, Melissa!
