Psalm 119:45
I will walk about in freedom, for I have sought out your precepts.
Old Glory bravely waves
A valiant testament
To freedom and values
Held in the hearts
Of these who understand
The sacrifice of those
Who paid the ultimate price
To preserve her presence
Beacon of hope to hopeless
Opportunity proffered
World without end
Until the world does
May this flag endure
All to God's glory
Amen!
Wishing each and everyone of you a memorable Fourth of July!
Wishing you and all your family a happy 4th of July now and always.

Happy Independence Day Ms. Martha. God's blessings ma'am. Let us reflect this weekend on the price of our freedom. I sense another huge payment will be needed soon.
ReplyDeleteYes, J. D., freedom certainly comes at a price. I hope and pray it's one we are still willing to pay when it comes to our God-given rights.

I love how you can write a poem in just a few sentences to say what it takes me a whole page to write! I don't have the gift of poetry, I'm afraid. But I appreciate it in others. This was great.
ReplyDeleteI'm so gratified you liked this, Pam - it means so much to me! By the way, don't cut yourself short in the writing department. I just shared your latest post about Independence Day on my Facebook feed. It is absolutely excellent!

Beautiful, meaningful words, sweet friend. SO thankful for our flag and all it represents and pray for God to continue to preserve it and our freedom. SO much is at stake in these troubled times!

Our 4th was much quieter this year but was still a good day. My in-laws have hosted a big cookout each year at their home on the lake with friends and family piling in throughout the day. But this year we kept it to family only so we could maintain physical-distancing and not spread potential covid. Next year hopefully we'll all return to more normal activities! Hope you had a good 4th as well.
ReplyDeleteI think we all missed out on the usual family fun this time around, Lisa, but I'm happy to know you could at least spend time with immediate family. I can say we did enjoy seeing some grand, and unexpected, fireworks from our deck. What a treat!

Hope you and your family had a wonderful 4th of July, Martha! Our brave soldiers fought for our freedom throughout our country's history, but only God can truly set us free!
ReplyDeleteAmen, Laurie! Only God can truly give us freedom in this life and the next.
