Happy Birthday!

But Jesus called the children to him and said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these." ~Luke 18:16

Not a day goes by that I don't miss our granddaughters.  That's especially true when the distance between us keeps us from celebrating special occasions together.  Middle grand, Savannah, just marks her 8th birthday this past Wednesday.  She is growing up so fast!

The last birthday where we could all get together, before they moved out of state, was Savannah's 5th.  What a sweet time that was!

But I'm so happy to have these photos from my daughter, Sarah.  While they aren't a substitute for actually being there, they are most certainly better than nothing!

Do you think Savannah likes the books she receives from her Gammie and Papa?

I think she does!!!

So, Happy Birthday, precious princess!  May God bless you and keep you!

Amen!

  2. Happy birthday little one, you are just one day older than you was yesterday - yesterday you was seven, today you are eight. Enjoy every day of your life and keep in touch with nanny Martha and your 'bamps' (as we say in Wales.

  12. I know it is hard to have your family far away. Two of our grandchildren
live in Houston, (950 miles away). I have missed a lot of first events. The yearning to have them close never leaves; although, they are grown now. I get to see them two or three times a year. 😢 I hope you get to see yours soon. Hugs and love. May God soothe your heart

    1. Two or three times a year to get together would be so welcome for us, too. We will see Virginia for most of June as she will be coming to stay with us. On the back end of the trip, we will stay a couple of days with the rest of the family. I do share your pain in living so far away from the grandchildren.

  14. A grandchild living so far away is tough. Missing out on so much due to world events makes it tougher. But I'm glad for you that you at least have the pictures and can see the enjoyment on her face.

  17. Happy birthday to Savannah. Sorry you couldn't be there. Our son moved across the country in August and then again in March. Still far away. I was sad on his birthday a few days ago that we couln't be with him. Thankfully, people at work brought cookies and I had a sweet treat delivered that day.

  19. What a blessing she is to you. Happy Birthday, Savannah! I know how you feel. The last birthday I spent with my daughter - now in her 40's - was age 13. She started going on Summer mission trips at 14 and her birthday is in June. At age 18, she moved to South Africa as a Missionary. She now resides in Nashville. I've yet to be with her on her birthday. I'm hoping to surprise her this year by showing up on her doorstep. The LORD willing.
