Advent

Holy candles

Lit in hope

Peace and joy

Laced in love

Everlasting

Flames ablaze

Light profound

Darkness flees

When God surrounds

The soul and self.

Amen

  1. Dearest Martha Jane,
Lovely poem and no doubt this also goes for the Hanukah celebration—laced in love...

    1. Thank you, Mariette! And yes, this could most certainly refer to Hanukah, too. I have two daughters-in-law who come from a Jewish upbringing, and I'm delighted with both of them.

  6. Spirit-lifting words, Martha. "Light profound" all by itself offers possibilities for much inspiration as our God and Savior lights the way of salvation, the path of wisdom, and the heart with peace and joy, etc. Praise God for our Lord Jesus Christ who makes it all possible!
