Give Thanks!

Backyard wild turkeys in 2019

Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!  His mercy endures forever.   ~1 Chronicles 16:34

In America, this one nation under God, we have so much for which to be thankful.  It is my hope and prayer that each and every one of you who visit here have a most blessed Thanksgiving Day, and that you will give thanks to the Lord with every breath you take.  He is good and His mercy endures forever!

Please take a moment to reflect and leave your messages of gratitude to God in the comments below.

Happy Thanksgiving!

  1. Dearest Martha Jane,
Yes, in the United States of America we certainly are blessed compared to all of America—Central and South.
May we thank God for that privilege!
Hugs and a Happy Thanksgiving to all of you.

  11. "I will give thanks to you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds" (Psalm 9:1)--wonderful deeds that prove Your steady provision, unfailing, protection, and wise guidance. You've blessed us beyond our needs in countless ways. "In perfect faithfulness you have done wonderful things" (Isaiah 25:1). "I stand in awe of Your deeds" (Habakkuk 3:2b)!

  12. I'm thankful for many things Martha. My long-suffering wife. :) Two girls I am proud to call me daughters and the best grandson on the planet (no one argue with me). :) The church I have had the pleasure of pastoring for 19+ years. That I live in America-flawed but still the best place (other than heaven) to live. Most of all, I am thankful for an amazing God who never ceases to amaze me. (And I'm thankful for friends like you who pray for me).

    1. Thank you, Bill, for taking time to list so many things for which you are grateful. These are simply perfect! May we never forget, too, that we are flawed as a country and as a people, but as long as we are one nation under God, all will be well in the end.

  17. We have wild turkeys in our area. They are very secretive so not often seen. The Lord is not so secretive when we seek him. Giving thanks and helping others are a way to see His hand at work in our lives. Have most Blessed Thanksgiving.

We were just cleaning carpet for somebody who had a beautiful photo on their wall that says, "In all things, give gratitude." That's now our mantra for this coming year. Hope you have a great holiday, Martha Jane!
