His Invitation

The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he might stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand. ~Psalm 37:23-24

Invitation offered.  Will you accept?

Placing one foot before the other

Dedicated to journey unknown

Mysterious to you only because

The Lord knows your path, destination

Way before your decision to accept

Becomes undeniable reality

Take that first step, followed by

Another and another, in faith alone

When all else fails and fades away

His invitation will ever remain.

Amen!

~

My friends, my family really needs your prayers.  With the children back at school, my daughter, Sarah, was able to secure a job at a grocery store that is within walking distance from their home, and her training has been going swimmingly.  Unfortunately, youngest daughter, Alexandra, came home from school on Wednesday with a diagnosis of Covid - highest temp at 104 before Tylenol and a cold bath.  I have every confidence that this little one will pull through, but Danny and I worry that this glitch in Sarah's schedule could effect the future of this most needed job for her.  Please pray for understanding on the part of her new employers and for restoration of health for precious Alexandra!

Thank you, and blessings to all!

Do you need prayers for friends and family?  Please let me know in the comments.

  1. Dearest Martha Jane,
What a lovely poem you wrote and so very true!
Children, as you know have easily a fever one day and shed it quickly.
Both of us had a summer flu; which is normal for the season!
Nowadays everything is being labeled Covid...
Colds and flus have always been with us and WILL always be!
Let's indeed hope that this also will be the healthy philosophy of Sarah's employers!
We all have had enough of this mass—fear mongering!
    May God calm His flock.
    Hugs,
    Mariette

  4. Oh Martha, I am so very sorry to hear about Alexandra's illness and also that it might affect her mother's new job. Praying for them both as well as the rest of the family that they will not also get sick. May God speed His healing to them and protect them all. God is with them. You can rest in that knowledge and peace of mind. (((hugs)))

    1. Thanks so very much for your prayers, Pamela! Unfortunately, John is now sick, but he was able to make arrangements with his work to work from home, so that's a blessing. I'm really surprised that he caught it as he is vaccinated; hopefully he'll only have a mild case. Alexandra is improving each day!

  10. So sorry to hear about the challenging situation, Martha. We're joining you in praying that God will prove Himself trustworthy and provide exactly what your family needs. We feel your heart and rejoice that your faith has been so evident to them. As you know so well, trials are so often the backdrop against which He paints His most glorious illustrations of love and grace. God bless you for being so transparent and we look forward to hearing how the situation turns out.

  15. Am a few days behind but God is always in time and my prayers though three days after the event are still relevant because of our Gods mighty omniscience.. praise His name.

Totally concur in every way with Mariette's comment at the top..
And children travel do much better than we do even when very ill they bounce back astoundingly fast, Ive seen it this werk with a hospitalised 3y.o and praying this is so with Henrietta, and your beloved daughter's job is perfectly fine and still around.

Jehovah Rapha - l am the LORD that healeth thee.
Jehovah Jireh - The LORD will provide..

God's never late its no accident these have coincided.
It simply proves the truth of Jesus's promise
In the world YE SHALL HAVE TRIBULATION.
BUT BE OF GOOD CHEER. I have overcome the world.

Lord bless and may He always help us to keep all of our eyes upon Him.
Behold God is my Salvation, I will TRUST and NOT be afraid thats the first words I see everyday as I wake its nexr to the clock in large illumination.
I need it every moment of every day.
Thanks for sharing, and may God bless you and keep you and all whom you love safe and well.
Prayer hugs, Shaz in Oz. X

  16. What true and marvelous scripture to wake up to every day, Shaz! That inspires me to do the same. Yes, God is always on time, and He has done wonders! Alexandra went back to school today. :) Unfortunately, her dad, John, caught it and is still under the weather, but is being treated with Paxlovid, so is improving.
Thanks so much for your prayers!
