My Little Big Girl

Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him. ~Psalm 62:5

My little big girl

So grown and yet so young

Innocence surrounds you still

Despite world's influence hung

About your shoulders, weary

Before their time is near

To face the wiles of growing up

In spite of doubts and fears.

God is with you through it all

His grace, your joy, to find

In unfettered, dreamless sleep

That leaves the world behind.

Amen!

  2. I love this so much. Virginia is so blessed to have a praying Grandma who loves her so much! I love the picture. I hope she is never too old to be sweet and innocent and hold her teddy bear closely. I still have one that I sleep with. Hubby gave it to me after one of my surgeries, and it has been such a cuddly comfort to me I can't let it go! Sometimes we just need something soft and sweet to cling to. God bless you dear Martha! You are a wonderful Grandma!

    1. Soft and sweet . . . that's the ticket, Pamela! Yes, I do hope she never outgrows the childlike aura she now has and that she won't be jaded by the evils of the world. I pray daily for her safety and that she would always feel God's comforting arms around her.

    1. Myra, your description of this age (12) as the sweet in-between time is priceless, because that is exactly what it is. May God give every child the grace and ability to traverse these tricky days.
