Happy Every Day

Psalm 19:8
The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart.  The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes.

Alexandra Nancy is our youngest granddaughter, who just turned seven months old on February 23rd.  While all our granddaughters are quick to smile when happy or amused, Alexandra exudes a constant aura of joy.  And one can't help but be captivated by that radiance whenever she is near.

Do you see the happy-every-day joy on her face?  The light in her eyes?

For me, to look at Alexandra is to see a glimpse of heaven.  Heaven here on earth.

The joy of the Lord manifest.

And here to stay.

~

When have you glimpsed heaven here on earth?

Prayer:  Father, we thank You for Your precepts, which give joy to our hearts, and for Your radiant commands, which give light to our eyes.  May Your love and grace ever shine through us and fill this sad and darkened world with Your glorious, incomparable light.  In Jesus' name, we pray.  Amen.

    1. They grow too quickly, don't they, Sharon? With our oldest being five, I sometimes have to pinch myself, wondering where the time has flown. And yes, I will enjoy every moment with the littlest.

  7. Hi Martha! Your little one really does radiate light and joy. I can see why you see so much in her little eyes. What a blessing for her parents and for you too!
I think I glimpse 'heaven on earth' when I see people doing what they are born to do, using their gifts, being joyful. So, I think it's when I watch my daughter be a tired mommy to her three little ones. Selfless love, called as a mom. Beautiful!
    Blessings,
    Ceil

    1. Alexandra is such a blessing to us all, Ceil. And I love that you glimpse heaven on earth when watching your daughter, fatigued as she might be, going above and beyond to care for her children. That's how I feel when I watch my daughter tend to the three granddaughters. Both women were born to be moms!
      Love and blessings!

  8. She radiates joy :)

For me a glimpse of heaven has to be when I am around kids. They are so magical! The way they love and can make you smile without any reason, that's how heaven must be I am sure.

  9. I also find heaven on earth in the presence of children. Their innocence and uncomplicated joy is a wonderful example of the sort of childlikeness we are to have. Jesus seems so close when holding a child.

I also see a glimpse of heaven when I spend time with my grandbeagle, Marty. The unity and affection between two species represents echoes of Eden to me - the way things were in the beginning, and the way they will be once again.

Alexandra - what a precious girl.

    GOD BLESS!
