Love and Blessings!

I am the Lord, and there is no other;
apart from me there is no God.
I will strengthen you,
though you have not acknowledged me,
so that from the rising of the sun
to the place of its setting
people may know there is none besides me.
I am the Lord and there is no other.

~Isaiah 45:5-6

As the sun sets on the year 2018, and prepares to rise in 2019, I am also going to disappear for a while here at Meditations of My Heart.  It isn't that I need a rest from blogging.  I simply want to spend as many days with granddaughter, Virginia Rose, while she is on her Christmas break.  We might even travel down to Oxford to see my mother for a few days.

That being said, I will be back here, raring to go, on Tuesday, January 8th, and will reveal my word for 2019 at that time.  It's a good one, I promise!

May the joy and peace of the Christmas season linger long into your New Year, my friends, and may the Lord always be your strength.

Love and Blessings to all!

    1. Yes, Cheryl, settling upon a word for the year isn't always self-evident, and for the first time, I truly had to wait upon the Lord to have this one revealed; the others came almost instantaneously. There's a lesson in that!

    1. Yes, Kim, the older I get, the more I realize the treasure we have in relationships with others, whether it be family or friends whom we count as family. Know that you, dear one, are among the latter!

  10. Happy New Year, Martha! Sounds like you will end this year and begin the new year doing what is most important -- enjoying loving relationships. You already know your new word?! Ha! I don't have a word of the year anymore, but when I did, I often didn't know what it was until New Year's Eve. Look forward to knowing yours! (But don't forget to keep breathing!!)

    1. Happy New Year to you, too, Galen! No, I certainly will NOT forget the breathing - carrying that good habit into 2019 and beyond. And it's absolutely true about loving relationships. One needs to invest time and energy in these as that is what truly matters.

  11. I think its wonderful you have the chance to be with your Grand daughter. Being a care giver is draining but there are some lessons tucked in the draining when we allow self to step aside and do for others. Happy New Year

    1. Pamela, I didn't get a chance to go to Oxford this time around, but plan to take Virginia over the long MLK weekend. We did have so much fun, though. As I mentioned to Floyd, our day trip to the science museum was a spectacular hit with her. I am really enjoying this break, too, so I can get some reading done, and work on the blog in a leisurely fashion.
