And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. ~ Romans 8:28
Side by side, we stand
Together. Nothing separates
Us from God, each other
Bound at birth, awakened
To a rhythm fresh
Untried. Path beckons
Before our entwined feet
Joyful dance displayed
Forever twirling, swirling
Pattern formed, inlaid,
By Him who calls, cajoles
Beyond the self-told tales.
Amen!
Sometimes, the realization of the gifts we have been given, when not deserved, overwhelm and make each and every day lived a reason to rejoice.
Wonderful poem. There are so many gifts given us by God that we do not realise at the time.
ReplyDeleteGod bless you and yours, Martha.
Thank you, Victor. Yes, God does shower us with so many gifts; may we see them for what they are.

Lovely, Martha. We often forget what binds us together.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Glynn! Yes, too often we do forget those ties that bind.

Wonderful! The path beckons .... yes!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Myra!

Such a wonderful poem and beautiful picture of you and Virginia. I hope you will get to be together again soon. She sure looks like you!!!
ReplyDeleteShe does look like me in this photo, Pam, I'd have to agree - especially the hair color now that I've let mine go natural. Counting down the days until summer break!

Beautiful and I love the photo!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Martha. I love this photo, too.

Beautiful, Martha! She is almost as tall as you!! xo
ReplyDeleteShe is, Terri! Virginia has about an inch to go before she is even with her Gammie.

Dearest Martha Jane,
ReplyDeleteLovely poem and yes, apart from being bound by blood, we ALL are bound by Faith and that runs far deeper!
Hugs,
Mariette
Thank you, Mariette, for your kind words here. And yes, our shared faith makes all our roots run deep.

Deleteoh my goodness, Martha ... every time I see the two of you together you look like twins.
ReplyDeleteit makes me smile right out loud!
may your weekend be filled with a strengthening love and peace ...
Smiling out loud . . . How I love that imagery, Linda, and I'm glad this post inspired that in you today! This photo does make us look rather twin-like, but if you saw us in person, well, I'm not sure if the resemblance would be there. That's okay!

We can do so much more when we're side by side! I'm grateful for those who have come alongside me both in hard times and in good times. Beautiful post, Martha.
ReplyDeleteI'm always grateful for those who have come alongside me, too, Lisa. Two are always better than one!

Besties I think. :-) God's blessings; and thank you for the wonderful words and sentiments of your poem.
ReplyDeleteBesties is absolutely right, J. D. Virginia and I are joined at the hip, as they say. Glad you liked the poem, too!

I like to walk in the forest where trees have no leaves under the bright blue sky. The sound of treading leaves is same as I heard in my childhood. Happy weekend to you.
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing like a walk in the woods on a brisk autumn day, Crane, I agree.

Wonderful! :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Frank!

ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you liked both the poem and the photo, Karen.

Side by side for sure Martha. I am glad I have the everlasting love of God surrounding me. Just an observation: you may not want to stand next to your granddaughter very soon. She will dwarf you. :)
ReplyDeleteYes, Bill, Virginia is threatening to overtake me any moment now! It's fine if she does, especially since this Gammie isn't very tall. And like you, I'm so grateful to have God's everlasting love.

ReplyDeleteBarbara, seeing you do so well as of lately is reason for my heart to soar! Yes, it's a slow recovery, but every day shows improvement, and I'm so grateful for God's care and comfort.

beautiful words! Man she is getting tall! It has been a joy watching her grow up through your blog,
ReplyDeleteOh, yes, Jean, Virginia is getting so big, and I'm glad you've enjoyed watching her progress here over the years. There's a part of me that wants her to slow down, but I know that's impossible, so will just enjoy the "where" she is in every moment.
