Daffodils

Then God said, "Let the plants grow from the earth, plants that have seeds.  Let fruit trees grow on the earth that bring their kind of fruit with their own seeds."  And it was so. ~Genesis 1:11

In the thaw

I come to be

When the cold

God bids to flee

For in the warmth

Of promised spring

Every hope

And heart will sing

Amen!

  2. Oh so wonderful to see the daffodils blooming! They don't grow here in Florida, so I have look for them at the store when they have them. Enjoy them for me, okay? Thank you!! Lovely poem...perfect!

    1. I'll certainly enjoy them for you, Pam. I didn't realize that there aren't daffodils in FL, but then I remembered that the bulbs need cold temperatures in the winter in order to trigger growth in the spring.
      Glad you enjoyed the poem.

  3. My daffodils are just beginning to stick their green leaves up through the soil. The English bluebells are about 10 days ahead of them.

  10. Dearest Martha Jane,
Spring is the rebirth of nature and it lifts our spirits up.
May the over 40 million residents from the Ukraine not lose their hope of a rebirth, for seeing their country wake up in the spring beauty once again.
    May God help us ALL.
    Hugs,

  17. Lovely, Martha! I love daffodils too. I see green shoots where they grow in our neighbor's yard; ours will soon follow. Theirs get more sun than ours. But I'm glad they don't come up together. We get to enjoy them longer!

    1. Enjoying them longer is such a lovely gift, Nancy. We are in the shade, but like you, many neighbors have full sun, so we reap the same rewards in the spring. What could be better?
