For God so Loved . . .

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. ~John 3:16

From the time she can walk, we host an Easter egg hunt for granddaughter, Virginia.

And years later, her sisters, Savannah and Alexandra join in.

What happy celebrations we share before the family moves away . . .

I truly wish that Danny and I could have spent Easter with our beautiful granddaughters, but we are thankful that they could do so with our son-in-law, John, his sister and her husband, along with their children, and his parents, Grandpa and Kiki.  The photos my daughter, Sarah, share with us more than capture the fun and joy the cousins are having on this glorious holiday, creating lasting family bonds of love.

And isn't that what Easter is all about?  God's love for His children?

From L-R:  Virginia, Savannah, Evie, Griffin, and Alexandra

Acting goofy!

Alexandra!

I sincerely hope, my friends, that your Easter filled you with peace, joy, hope, and most of all, love!

Amen!

  2. Distance and our ex son-in-laws dislike for Christmas and Easter sort of changed our plans a lot. We had a busy morning and then a quiet afternoon (although I did go to the office for a couple of hours). The morning celebration was well worth it. So glad you had the chance to experience this with your three "young-uns" even though it was from a distance.

    1. I have to admit, Bill, I miss those little girls every single day, but I am glad they could have fun with their cousins and John's parents this Easter. We have such special memories of them spending Easter with us . . . Maybe, next year?

  4. Unlike Tom, I never had the opportunity to spend 'fun' time with my cousins. He's 80 now and still recounts the great memories. I hope your treasures will do the same someday!

  7. Dearest Martha Jane,
Bonding between first cousins is very important and they can become as close as siblings.
Easter of course is a lovely time for being with family together.
You were there in thought and you could view them in action; that is the benefit of nowadays' technology.
    Hugs,
    Mariette

    1. Yes, cousins can certainly become as close as siblings, Mariette, that's for sure. My daughter, Sarah, and her cousin, Rebecca, have always been close. We took vacations together, and Rebecca was Sarah's maid of honor. I think of her more as a daughter than a niece.

  8. Looks like all had a great time; and you and Mr. Danny did as you relived it with them through photos. And thank you, Ms. Diane and I had a great time with Easter services, and the fellowship continued through dinner with friends.

    1. Sounds like you enjoyed a splendid Easter day, J. D. I so wish we could have attended church in person for Easter, but we knew it would be crowded, so plan to finally return to church this coming Sunday. So happy for the kids!
