Can We Know?

Do you know how the clouds are balanced, those wonderful works of Him who is perfect in knowledge? ~Job 37:16

Can we know God?

Can we know the Lord?

The One perfect in knowledge?

His revelations

Are everywhere we look

When we pause, take time

To surrender to

His majesty; aware

Of the glory that

Belongs to Him alone.

And will to everlasting

Days, years, eternal

To guide finite days

And lead on forever

Until He brings us

Home to Him.

Amen

  1. Wow, I never noticed that particular verse in Job before. Very interesting. Never thought about the clouds being "balanced", but we sure love to look at them and I often think God has designed them especially for us to enjoy, especially during sunrises and sunsets. Yes, all glory belongs to Him alone. Love your poem. Thank you for sharing it with us.

    1. And I will second that, J. D. We need to do our part in sharing what we have experienced of God's love with others at all times.

    1. Yes, Myra, how can we not know now? His glory abounds, and we need to take the initiative to keep His promises alive and active in an atmosphere that wishes to deny God's position in the ultimate equation.

  5. Thank you for your inspiring poem, Martha. Yes, we CAN know Him, more completely and more intimately year by year, as we spend time with him and his Word. One of the great blessings of being His child, we can grow in our relationship with Him until the day He takes us home to heaven. There's always room to go "further up and further in" (C. S. Lewis) with God. No danger of stagnation whatsoever!

    1. One of my favorite quotes for all time, Nancy, is the one you've written here. It is the ultimate truth of our recognized existence in God's presence. May everything we do, think and say reflect our knowledge of His wisdom.

  9. "His revelations are everywhere we look...." I really like that. As I sit here on the lanai looking out at the variety of trees, bushes, birds, and such truly they all reveal truth about our wonderful Lord.

My techie has put "Subscribe to Time For Reflections" at the top right hand column. Does this work on your computer?

I thought I already was with Blogger account. I'm confused.

      Thanx. God bless.
