Don't Hesitate

But now, this is what the Lord says - he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel:  "Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine." ~Isaiah 43:1

Here is my hand

Will you take it?

No fear in the journey

When we're together

Steps are not as steep

Detours make no difference

Miles turn into moments

Thirsts are quenched

Here is my hand

Will you take it?

The choice is yours

It always has been

But when you hesitate

You break my heart.

Amen

  3. Taking His hand and walking with Him has never been a disappointment. I will take it and follow, even if it means heartaches along the way.

    1. Amen, Bill! Yet, so many folks turn down that offer from God, don't they? Praying for them!

  5. When you hesitate, you break My heart... why do we often hesitate to fully trust Him? I love this poem Martha. Did you post it before?

  10. Dearest Martha Jane,
    Great poem.
Yes, that's what we did literally, over almost 5,000 miles. Just for being at each others' side. Now it was still possible and the memories will last forever.
It kind of puzzled me that you wrote on my post: 'I'm so glad you all had such a great vacation.' Would you tell that also to a bus driver or truck driver on an 11–day tour?
    Hugs,
    Mariette

    1. Hi, Mariette!
I have to confess that I'm not the driver whenever Danny and I take excursions, and I so admire you in being able to handle these challenges. I am in awe of your endurance, and that of truckers who keep this country moving. In no way would I wish to disparage or belittle anyone who is dedicated to working to make our country a better place.
      Love and blessings!

    2. Martha Jane, that's exactly what Pieter and I have been saying over and over; we so admire our dedicated truckers doing this day after day and not only on sunny days but during dangerous weather days as well. I only did it out of love, for taking my Pieter there where he always wanted to go and the same for me.
Humans can do a lot more than they think they can... with prayer that is!
      Hugs,
      Mariette

  14. Martha, you've captured perfectly our Father's gracious invitation to us. You also reminded me of my earthly father who mirrored God with his loving care, providing a stable home for my brother and me. I loved walking hand in hand with him, his big, strong one engulfing mine! This is what our Heavenly Father offers--a life security and blessing. Why would I ever say "no" to him?! Thank you for bringing these uplifting thoughts to my mind, Martha!
