Your Will Be Done

Your kingdom come.  Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. ~Matthew 6:10

Seasons come and seasons go

Beyond control of human race

Now is the time for our embrace

Of God.  We need to know

His will for us as days progress

Descend with clarity, His way

Election nigh, so now we say

To Him, we won't shirk, regress

From Your presence, gifts you've given

To Your people who pray

As it is on earth and in heaven

May it come true in the one

Who honors You, Your plan, Your will

My Lord, we pray, be done.

Amen!

  2. Dearest Martha Jane,
Your image is hilarious in a way with to the left some chocolates with Nutrition Facts.
May the nutrition of those Georgia Peaches have a Healthy and Long Lasting Impact on millions of people!
My feeling is that a record number of sincere Prayers have been going up to heaven—for guidance and for protection.
It reaffirms us all that there IS A God—He Protects His People and Leads US.
May the coming Thanksgiving be a real one for many families to gather around their table and say Praise to God.
    Hugs,
    Mariette

    1. Mariette, I must confess that I didn't do that on purpose with the Georgia vote sticker, I was just looking for a way to prop it up in order to get a better photo - LOL! Praying with you that the Lord's impeccable will be done when this election is over. And speaking of Thanksgiving, we should be thankful to God for His blessings every day of the year.

    2. Now we have living proof that God listens to an entire nation in prayer! Trump already had Divine Intervention and we are being heard...

  3. His will be done. He is sovereign and knows what all is going on. He is not shaken. He is not surprised. He is not worried. My sincere prayer is that whatever happens, we accept and pray even harder for God to be glorified.

  5. I'll bet there's a lot of prayer for our Nation lately. We are one click away from full-blown Marxism. I really don't think we'll be blessed again, though, until we stop the murdering of untold innocents in the womb and glorifying immorality. This all goes hand-in-hand. We have become a den of vipers. But, that said, I also pray about these things often along with many others. May those with hearts are stone turn to hearts of flesh that their lives may be dedicated to serving Jesus. And may it please the Lord to have mercy on us.
    Blessings.

  8. Every time I begin to feel anxious I read my Bible. Reading Daniel 1-2 and Daniel 6-7 encouraged me. Like Daniel we must live as faithful citizens of Gods kingdom, resisting the world’s pressure to conform. Keep praising God for His sovereignty.

  11. Great Picture, Martha Jane--and had no doubt that you and Danny would get your vote in the bank. Diane and I did that here in Middle Tennessee last week. So, we've done all we could do politically--clarified the policies, encouraged our friends and neighbors to vote, and got our own ballots cast. Now we're engaged in doing all we can do spiritually, which is to pray our hearts out to God continually. So, now we wait and begin to prepare our hearts and minds for the work that lies ahead for us no matter how the election turns out. Our job is not to just hold on till Jesus takes us to be with Him in that other world. But instead, as you have so creatively reinforced in your inspiring, poetic admonition, it's to bring His Kingdom here. May God encourage us with victories on every level tonight and fill us with hope in ways that supersede politics. God bless you again for sharing your gifts and your heart with us in such a beautiful way.

    1. Thank you, Ron, for your most encouraging words and prayers here. Yes, we should pray every single day not for what we want but for what God wants to be accomplished in our country. Yes, like Diane and you, we went on the first day of early voting, in person, and are so glad we did. There was a line out the door!!! It was so heartening to witness so much eagerness to get it right after Georgia was the laughing stock of the previous presidential election. They got that mess straightened up.
May God's will be done now and forever.

  17. Thank you, lovely Martha. Love it. And I love how God intervenes in the affairs of his people who pray. I recall sitting in prayer the day of the election, praying from Chronicles that familiar verse. I said, "Lord, it's all we have to trust in at this juncture, that you hear from heaven and heal our land. Though as a collective people, we don't deserve anything but your judgement, as we have sinned against you, encoded in our laws sins, I ask on behalf of your people who HAVE cried out for mercy, who still put their trust in You, that you be merciful..." And last night before I went to bed, late into the night, before the election returns were all in, I rested in peace because it was looking good. Today is a new day, and I still pray for mercy and grace upon our leaders, that they steer this sinking ship to safety. That the transition of leadership be peaceful. Let us continue to pray for peace in the land, and bind the evil that seeks to destroy us.

    1. You've said it better here, Debra, than I ever could. Yes, we have committed so many sins as a nation, but God does hear our prayers and is merciful and forgiving when we put our trust in Him and His will. Let's continue to pray for all our elected leaders that God will guide and protect them and His people.

  22. Such a beautiful and heartfelt prayer, reminding us of the importance of seeking God's will in our lives. The reference to the seasons as they change mirrors the need for clarity and divine guidance as we navigate the complexities of life. It’s a wonderful expression of faith and surrender, trusting in God’s plan for us. The simple yet powerful plea for His will to be done both on earth and in heaven is a message of hope and devotion.

    1. Your comment here tells it all, Melody. We must learn God's will, His Word, and take both to heart as we navigate the seasons of our lives and grow in His will for us as individuals, communities and a nation founded under Him. If we win or lose on the earthly stage, we always know that Jesus has claimed the ultimate victory over sin and death for all His children. I will check out your new blog, my friend.
