John 14:6
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
I try and try again
Yet, nothing happens
To convince him
That words of love sincere
Make a difference
Change a heart, a mind
Beg utmost for highest
Ignored, unheeded
The will, dangerous
Since the temptation
In the Garden, serpent
Lurks here and now
May light be sought
Tables eventually turned
In favor of the way
The truth and the life
Forever and forever
Again and again, amen!
We definitely need some tables turned today. May people see Jesus as the way, truth, and life through this mess.
ReplyDeleteAmen, Bill! Jesus is the answer in these troubled times.

Agree with Bill. The thing is; I suspect many people are still stubborn and do not even believe in Jesus.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
That's the sad, sad truth, Victor. May their hearts be turned to the only One who saves.

ReplyDeleteOur will is often the most dangerous enemy we face.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly can be, Ryan. What a shame!

Praying for God's will and work to be done in our lives and in our country especially right now. I know, it begins with me, but I pray it will catch on and our land will turn back to God. He is certainly reaching out to us in these difficult days.
ReplyDeleteYes, Pamela, I do believe the Lord is reaching out to us in mighty ways in these times. May we wake up and turn to Jesus!

May many hearts turn to Jesus!
ReplyDeleteAmen, Beckie! That is certainly the prayer that is on my lips.

With all the untoward happenings of late, I can't help but believe God is trying to get our attention. May He have mercy on us!
ReplyDeleteIndeed, Myra! May God show us mercy at this time, and turn hearts toward Him.

I feel the longing in your heart here, Martha. Lord, have mercy! Love and blessings to you!
ReplyDeleteYes, Trudy, there is much longing in my heart in this as I so want a beloved family member to realize that Jesus is with him.

Beautiful poem, Martha. Each one of us have a "God-shaped" hole that is only satisfied with God alone. Too many try and fill that emptiness with things of the world. Oh for more of Jesus in me and less of me!
ReplyDeleteLove and blessings!
You are so right about that God-shaped hole in all of our hearts, Kim. Nothing in this world can fill it, only Jesus. May He increase, and we decrease.

Amen and amen. May all knees bow and call Him King and Savior! Beautifully written Martha!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Jean, for your kind words here. May every knee bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord of all!

Your poem reminded me of Cassandra in Greek mythology. Do you know who she was? She was the daughter of the king of Troy, and she tried to tell everyone that bringing the Trojan horse inside the city was a bad idea, but no one believed her. Anyway, just a random connection I was reminded of. Beautiful, heartfelt poem.
ReplyDeleteI'd forgotten about Cassandra, Galen, so I'm grateful you brought this parallel up. Yes, it's so frustrating when someone won't listen and heed heartfelt words. Glad you liked the poem!

I agree with Bill and Victor. The sad part is that people do not even see that they need to turn back to God. All you hear is how they can't wait for things to get back to normal, never even stopping to wonder or consider why things have happened as they have. I have to wonder if God is going to allow things to get even worse to try to get people's attention? I have NO idea what His will is, but I truly don't see that people are "getting it" as far as Him trying to wake them up and get their attention.
ReplyDeletePeople truly need to turn back to God, Cheryl, but will they? I'm praying that this horrid pandemic has gotten the attention of many as to what is eternally important in life. May these lost ones find the Lord!

Hoping many will come to know Him in a profound way this year!😀❤️🙏🙏
ReplyDeleteOh, yes, Valerie, that is my prayer, too!

Martha, hi! May the Holy Spirit have completely free reign to do His faithful, powerful work of comforting, convicting, guiding, loving during these difficult days.
ReplyDeleteHe is faithful and He will do it!
Linda, He is faithful and will accomplish His purposes, of that, I have no doubt! God can always turn what seems evil to good, and I hope we're all trusting in Him to do so.

Well said, my friend. Thank you and blessings to you and yours.
