"I am the Alpha and Omega," says the Lord God, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty." ~Revelation 1:8
Tenuous times
Temporary times
Uncertainty rules
Obedient hearts
Now wander, wonder
Pray unceasing
For closure sure
A future hope
In faith reveals
A promise made
A promise kept
He is the Alpha
And Omega
Today, forever.
Amen!
God never changes. It is us who do.
ReplyDeleteGod bless you and yours, Martha.
You are absolutely right, Victor.

DeleteBeautiful, Martha--concise assessment, encouraging admonitions, and inspiring affirmations. Thank you for sharing your unique gift and offering another springboard for our contemplation of who we are and why we're here. God bless you--and our prayers for both of you as Danny continues his progress in recovery.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Ron, for your kind and thoughtful comment here. I like what you said about contemplating who we are and why we're here. God certainly wants us to seek Him in all things.

Sweet Martha: Your poem says it all. We are still praying for our pastor. God is definitely in control in that circumstance. Praying for you and yours. Peace and blessings.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your prayers, Cecelia, and know I'm continuing to pray for Rick and Cheryl, as I'm sure your whole church is.

A truth always & forever. I appreciate you very much. For all your visits to my blogs. I have been caught up in doing some on line bible studies with 4 different pastors and all of them in the end times. I have learned and still am learning so much. God is always in control even when we think He is not. Have a blessed weekend.
ReplyDeleteWow, Anne, four at once??? That's quite the challenge to take on, but it's perfect for Lent. May you have a blessed weekend, too!

I can so relate to your words, Martha. Succinct and sure, again you've touched my heart.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad these words spoke to your heart, Myra. I am honored and humbled.

I'm so grateful God never changes. He was, is, and will always be. Praise Him for His faithfulness, His mercy, His grace, His peace forever, amen! Beautiful post. Lifted me right up.
ReplyDeleteBlessings. xx
Just knowing God will forever be with us brings me such comfort, too. And I'm so gratified to know this poem uplifted you, Sparky!

Reassuring truth here, Martha: every promise God has made he has kept or will keep when Jesus comes again and everything is set right. His track record is 100% thus far; we can trust him to complete what he's started! Thank you for the restful affirmations to remember, especially during these tenuous-though-temporary days!
ReplyDeleteI know that's how this poem came to be, Nancy; all the recent struggles Danny and I have faced together have led us to know more deeply the eternal promises of God. If it weren't for the faith we have, I know we would not have gotten through this ordeal. Thanks for your kind words!

Comforting poem, Martha. Encouraging to understand and know the truth that God is the ultimate promise keeper. He never fails to keep His promises. Ever. God bless. Karen Friday
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your kind words here, Karen. God is the ultimate promise keeper, for sure.

Hi Martha Jane, He is not only our Alpha and Omega , He is our Everything. God bless you.
ReplyDeleteHe is our everything, Brenda, and we all should be so grateful for that.

Interesting use of the two ancient symbols Alpha and Omega, the first and last letter of greek, to refer to God. God is eternal. He is the beginning and the end and what is between the two. He's forever.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely, Duta, and I've always loved the Alpha/Omega imagery. Perfect way to describe our forever heavenly Father!
