Calling All Prayer Warriors!

Therefore, confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.  The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. ~James 5:16

Most of my dedicated readers here at Meditation of My Heart know that my customary posting date for my blog is every Friday.  I am interrupting that pattern because my husband, Danny, and I really need and would so appreciate your powerful and effective prayers.

On the advice of his electro-physiologist, Danny is scheduled to have a heart ablation this Wednesday, May 1st, to reduce and/or eliminate the ventricular tachycardia that would, to be blunt, kill him if it weren't for his pacemaker.  The surgery takes around five hours, and Danny will be kept overnight for observation.  His son, Nicco, has volunteered to drive his dad to the hospital and stay with him until the procedure is concluded.  Of course, Nicco will keep me informed of anything I might need to know or do in the moment.  He has been such a wonderful help to both of us ever since that fateful day in January when Danny's pacemaker went haywire, and he had to have an emergency replacement.  If you missed that post, you can read it here.

If you would all pray for his surgeon, the nurses who will be in attendance, and for successful healing for Danny, know that God hears them all and will act upon those supplications.  I know.  I can attest to encountering the Lord's calm and comfort in countless frightening times, all due to the fervent prayers of others on our behalf.  Feel free to put Danny's name on your church's pray chain.  Since I am not on Facebook, but if you are and feel moved to do so, please share this post so we can reach as many prayer warriors as possible.  The more believers involved in this effort will make an incredible impact, not just for the one prayed for, but for those who offer the prayers.

We know that our loving God is the One in control.  May His will be done!

Amen!

  22. It's so heartwarming to see the list of prayer warriors who love you and Danny and are stepping up to pray with you, and Diane and I are blessed to join your tribe and join our faith and our petitions to the living God to be in absolute control of the procedure. We are confident that the One who embodies healing and restoration will give us reason to celebrate with you when you let us know the outcome. May the peace He's already given sustain each of you as we await the good news that we believe will be coming.

  27. We've been praying for Danny. So good to hear Danny got through it ! God is good. My sister has a pacemaker and since she had a replacement, she has been doing well. My great cousin Mike has had that procedure and he has a really awful other disease to boot. Ankylosing Spondylitis. A common disease with Eastern European genes. My friend Shannon , a blogger suffers from it too. I learn so much from others every single day. Grateful hearts here, that Danny is doing well. I hope you both are getting a restful night's rest and we are always thankful that we can pray. God Bless you both.

Danny didn't sleep much at the hospital, but now he is home and is taking a long nap this afternoon. We all need sleep especially when our bodies are trying to heal. God is good, all the time!

  29. I just saw on someone else's post that you said Danny came home today, so praise God for answered prayers and a successful procedure. I must apologize because I have been so behind this week in my reading that I didn't see this post when you wrote it. I am glad that so many more were praying for you and Danny. And we know that God was certainly with him already. So very thankful that He has undertaken for Danny's needs and yours as well. May the Lord continue his healing and restore his strength day by day. Praying this will take care of the issues that he has been having. Our God is an awesome God!! (hugs) to you today. I know this has been a trying week for you. But God was with you. He always is. Praise God! Amen!

    1. Thanks so much for your prayers and well wishes here, Pamela. You're not too late to the party; Danny still needs prayers for continued healing. On top of that, his right eye is acting strangely, so I will be taking him to an eye-doctor who is filling in for our usual one due to vacation. I think the problem stems from all the anesthesia that was put in his body, but I'm no doctor. I'll try to let everyone know what is decided.

    1. Thanks, Lisa! Danny made it through that part, but he is back in the hospital because his eye doctor visit on Friday thinks his right eye had a small stroke possibly caused by that procedure. They are running a battery of tests, his son, Nicco, is with him, and none of us can be sure when they will release him. I think Monday might be the earliest.
Love and blessings and keep praying!

Thank God for the successful operation.
I must express my regret as I’ve been quite delayed in my reading this week, and I missed your post when it was initially written.

Please let me know how things are going and I will continue praying!

  37. Thanks so much, Marilyn, for your powerful prayers! It seems that today's MRI showed that Danny had a slight stroke in his eye due to his ablation as it is visible in that brain scan. We are feeling blessed that no other functions were damaged; I think they will release him tomorrow from the hospital. There will be many follow up visits with different specialists as needed. Thanks to you and so many caring readers for your prayers and encouragement!
