Danny and I in his new music studio
Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth. ~Psalm 96:1
A new song shall I sing unto the Lord
When I, in doubt, surrender to His might
In fears I've faced, forgiveness love, finds
Me, through Him who will forever fight
For justice, peace, truth, righteousness
Though earth dissolve, faith will not betray
God's Word, His pledge, His presence, promises.
His mercies new at dawn of every day.
Amen!
Dearest Martha Jane,
ReplyDeleteDidn't know you both were into music!
Faith indeed will not betray.
Hugs,
Mariette
Danny and I sang contemporary Christian music for years at our former church, and are now praising God through song in our new one. We are so grateful to be learning some new songs and rehearsing some older ones, Mariette.

💞
DeleteAmen. Wonderful hymn, Martha.
ReplyDeleteI like your new studio.
God bless you and your family.
Thanks so much, Victor! Yes, Danny and I are really enjoying the new studio with state-of-the-art equipment that his sons gave him on his last birthday. What a joy to sing for the Lord!

Very cool Martha! Craft and sing those new songs to the Lord
ReplyDeleteJust to set the record straight, Bill, we're not writing songs, but learning some new ones to offer to our church's worship service. Such an honor!

Danny is feeling better!? That's wonderful! Nice studio. Oh, I wish I was musically gifted. I tried to learn the guitar and the flute when I was a kid but have zero musical talent. I do like to sing (doesn't mean I'm any good though ... lol). Y'all have a great day. 💙
ReplyDeleteHe is feeling well these days, Sparky, praise the Lord! His doctor gave him the all-clear to play guitar and sing, and this is so healing for him and for me. Whether you can sing or not, you can always praise God with the gifts He gave you.

It's the hope that sustains.
ReplyDeleteThe only Hope that matters, Glynn, you are so right.

Bom dia, Martha

Thanks so much, Lucinalva! Always a joy to sing His praises.

What a difference music makes. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteMusic always makes a difference for the better, Diana, that's for sure. Let us praise the Lord with harp and lyre.

People love listening to good music. This song will be a joy to hear, the audience and the Lord will be filled with joy when they hear it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind words here, Bill, but this is simply a poem inspired by the fact that we are once again able to learn some new songs and share them with our church family.

What a terrific photograph, Martha.
ReplyDeleteYour poem is beautiful! The last line, in particular, fills my heart.
You are too kind, Mevely! I thought the photograph was great, too. Danny's phone captured it. :)
DeleteLove and blessings!
As always I love your poetry. Have you put any of it to music? Just a thought.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Martha!
No music; I'll let the poem sing for itself. :)

Songs to God, and Faith in God, go hand in hand.
ReplyDeleteThey absolutely go together, Duta. How can we NOT sing praises to our Lord?
DeleteLove and blessings!
Oh, that looks so wonderful! I know you are both happy to be singing for the joy of the Lord! I didn't know Danny had a new music studio. Did I miss a post about it? It looks very state of the art! I would LOVE to hear you both sing sometime!!!
ReplyDeleteFor his birthday last year, Danny's sons gave him a state of the art upgrade for his studio and helped him set it up. Needless to say, Danny was thrilled! It's a great way to be able to learn and record songs of praise, new and old. I think Danny will be putting some of recordings on his Facebook account soon, Pamela.

So well written, Martha. Beautiful. xo
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your kind words here, Terri.

Wow... I'm impressed, Martha--yet another gift God has given you guys that I didn't know about. It's such an encouraging thing to see how many ways God has at His disposal to equip and empower His servants to bring HIs Kingdom to earth. And once again, the picture of Danny's studio adds visual depth to the words and helps to highlight the message you expressed so poetically. Thank you for inviting us into your home and heart for another inspiring visit and God bless you for continuing to keep the light of His Truth shining.
ReplyDeleteThank you once again, Ron, for your kind and generous words here. We are so blessed to have a venue in which we can sing praises to the Lord in our new church, and we are learning some new contemporary Christian songs as we return to the tried and true ones we sang in the past. This brings both of us such joy and fulfillment, and keeps our focus on God instead of our earthly worries. Isn't that what He wants from us?

Beautiful. His mercies are new every morning.
ReplyDeleteAmen, Debra! We see that each day He gives us breath.

How delightful to have your very own studio for rehearsing, Martha! And of course I love your poem. Praise God he is always on the side of justice, peace, truth, righteousness! Also praising God that Danny is doing so well!
ReplyDeleteI, too, praise God every day for His undeserved mercies and salvation, Nancy. It is so healing for Danny and for me to still be able to celebrate God's goodness through the gift of music. May we always use those to His glory.

Lovely.....Amen!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Debby.

Music completes us as humans, your poem is wonderful just like you are

This poem indeed sings a new song of praise and admonition to the Lord Almighty! May our hearts always sing to Him. God bless, Martha. Karen Friday
ReplyDeleteAmen, Karen! How could we NOT sing praises to our God and King?
DeleteLove and blessings!
Music whether through voice or heart delights the Lord.

It certainly does, Jim. Praise Him with the harp and lyre and with our voices in harmony.

Your poem is beautiful and inspiring, Martha.
ReplyDeleteThe studio looks fantastic, and I can feel the joy it brings you both to sing and praise God.
Wishing you and Danny continued blessings and joy!

Oh, to see you two using the gifts God has given you. What a wonderful feeling it is to be in His will doing something we love and that brings Him glory. So great to see this. I'm glad Mr. Danny is feeling better and praying your voice remains strong and vibrant throughout. Is this new studio in your home? How cool is that?! God's blessings, ma'am.
