"If You Could Read My Mind, Love, What a Tale My Thoughts Would Tell . . ."

Matthew 6:8
Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

My husband, Danny, and I share a special connection.  We have an uncanny way of reading one another's thoughts before a word is ever spoken.

Now, granted, this doesn't happen all the time.  But, it occurs often enough for me not to view it as simply coincidence.

I'll be writing away on the computer when a thought about Danny pops into my head, unprovoked.  The next thing I know, my phone is ringing.  It's he!

Or, we'll be working at home and he suddenly gets the urge for an afternoon cup of coffee.  Before he moves to make it, I'm already preparing it.

Goosebumps!

Whenever we experience one of these moments, it never fails to bring a smile to my face.

I marvel at this intangible gift.

And, it makes me think about how God hears us.  Knows what we are going to say before we say it.  Knows our needs before we ask.

Yet, He still wants us to converse with Him.

To tell Him our thoughts.  Our feelings.  Our hopes.  Our fears.

Just as Danny and I enjoy our daily conversations.  Speaking aloud.  Not just assuming we can always read the other's mind.

So, we talk to God.  Out loud.

Then . . .

Stop.

And, listen in silence to what He has to say.

Thankfully celebrating this special connection with Him.

Do you share a telepathic connection with someone you love?

Will you pray with me?
We are so grateful, Father, that you know our needs before we ask.  But, we know how much You like hearing from us.  Let not a day go by when we don't have a conversation with You.  Amen.

  6. Just the other day, RavenMyth was asking how come I knew of her plans. I didn't actually... and I was sure to tease her, it's mental telepathy. It happens often with friends I haven't seen for a long time. When people cross my mind, I immediately think, perhaps, this person needs prayers or support. Some would call or send me a message to verify it. Deja vu? I say it's more of the Spirit's work, the One who prays on our behalf.

I remember this happened to me and my exbf before. We wrote of the same things at the same time...

It also happens when I'm more attuned to the Lord's voice...

Oh, it's so wonderful to have Christ in person (in your husband, within you)...

I pray with you...renewing my commitment everyday to be faithful in conversing with the Lord :)

    1. Melissa, it is so great as always to hear from you!
Isn't it amazing when we "read minds" of those we are close to? I agree - it is the Spirit at work and happens when we are centered in the Lord, not distracted by the outside clamor and demands of the world.
And, to pray for that person we are thinking of is perfect . . . probably the exact thing he or she needs.
Thank you for praying with me, my dear. A conversation with the Lord should definitely be ongoing!
      Blessings to you!
