"Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near." ~Matthew 24:32
I dare to lift my head
When winter still possesses
Earth in its frozen
Grip. Defying odds.
No groundhog can predict
My coming, my blooming;
I only heed one voice
And that is God's.
Amen!
As God's children, may we listen to the voice of the Lord, and bloom where we are planted. Spring has sprung in Georgia and in my heart!
Wonderful poem and sentiment.
ReplyDeleteHere it is still cold. Few signs of Spring. God bless.
Thank you, Victor! I sure hope that spring comes to your neck of the woods soon.

I'm ready for spring Martha. it has been a really mild February here in Indiana so far. Makes me long for that warm weather. Someone told me yesterday they were hoping March wouldn't make up for February. Stay the lamb! LOL
ReplyDeleteI hear you, Bill! Since my birthday is March 1, I'm always aware of the lion and lamb predictions. I know they're not scientific, but it sure is fun to think about. May spring come sooner than later to Indiana!

Spring is coming! Our daffodils are pushing their stalks up through the soil.
ReplyDeleteHooray, Glynn! Daffodils always give us such hope that spring is right around the corner.

Love it. Regine
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Regine!

Martha: Beautifully said. We have to wait until mid-March to see the beginnings of spring. Here in Indiana it's 42 degrees.
ReplyDeleteSpring tends to be late up north, Cecelia, that's for sure. As I mentioned to my other Indiana friend above, may it come sooner than you expect.

Wonderfully encouraging display of beauty unfolding, Martha--both in the pictures of the daffodils and in the words you sent along with them. The concept is as optimistically inspiring as the feeling of warmth creeping into the air here in Middle Tennessee. God bless you, my friend, and may your Valentine's Day be filled with thoughts and experiences that hug your heart and leave lingering, memorable smiles in their wake.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Ron, for your kind words and well-wishes for Valentine's Day. I do hope that Diane and you will enjoy the day fully and make more memories to enjoy in the future. Glad that middle Tennessee is beginning to realize the coming of spring.

Oh, I love the daffodils! Mother Nature still hasn't made up its mind what it wants to do with Alabama. I need to stop fretting and listen for His one true voice.
ReplyDeleteAmen, Myra, Those beautiful flowers should be appearing in your neighborhood soon. :)

Dearest Martha Jane,
ReplyDeleteLovely poem and yes, Georgia has spring one of its seven 'springs'...🤗
Love to see the sun shining after days of rain!
Hugs,
Mariette
Sunshine is most welcome after days of rain, isn't it, Mariette? I do love living in Georgia every day of the year. Can't think of a better climate.

We just biked this afternoon... lovely with the sun and in shorts! 🌞🚴💕
DeleteSweet poem and yes indeed, listen to His voice! Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Cindy!

Lovely spring post to my favourite season!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Christine! I'm kind of a fall person myself, but spring is always lovely.

Another month or so and our neighbor's daffodils will bloom. Theirs get more sun than ours, so those that grow at the edge of our little woods won't bloom for another few weeks after that. I rather like it that way--since their differing environment means the delight of daffodils is spread over a greater span of time! / Love the lesson you drew from your early blooms, Martha. May we follow the daffodils' example and heed only one Voice!
ReplyDeleteWe have that same phenomena happening here, Nancy, as some of our neighbors have daffodils in full sun while ours are in the shade. It is wonderful to see spring unfold in waves, listening to the prompting of the Lord and Creator of all. May spring fill you with joy!

Love to see the happy daffodil faces! We can't grow them here, so we can only see the ones that we can buy in the grocery store. Thank you for sharing yours with us, and I love the poem. I hope you have a Happy Valentine's Day tomorrow!! God bless you dear friend.
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame that daffodils aren't able to grow in Florida, Pamela. They are my favorite spring flower, hands down! I'm glad that you enjoyed both the photos and the poem, too.

Love this, Martha! So powerful! I pray just like creation, we will also heed only one voice!
ReplyDeleteAmen, Karen! Let us always listen for the voice of the Lord.

Spring... when the earth comes alive again just like our Savior did for us. Beautiful, Martha!! xo
ReplyDeleteAmen, Terri! Truly, the earth is alive with His glory.

Oh my goodness you have daffodils!!! Real live flowers!!! I'm living vicariously through your warm climate, friend. It'll be a long time til anything green and growing finds its way here.
ReplyDeleteLinda, I'm so glad seeing these photos has you dreaming of spring. It seems like it takes forever for it to arrive when one lives up north; we are truly spoiled in this part of the country.

Bom dia, Martha
ReplyDeleteLindo poema e que a primavera seja um período de grandes bênçãos, um forte abraço.
Amen, Lucinalva! May God fill our springtime with new hope and blessings.

Oh, dear friend! To heed one voice! YES! May we always do this. The world is full of so much noise and clamor. I have to really strain to hear that still small voice. Sending hugs your way today.
ReplyDeleteThe clamor of this world certainly screams for our attention, Cheryl, that's for sure. May we be mindful to enter a quiet time spent with God, and listen for His voice.

The daffodils are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteLove the poem.
