Fall Like Rain

Let my teaching fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants. ~Deuteronomy 32:2

Raindrops gently fall

Subtly, softly, bathe the earth

God's voice quietly heard

Hallowed is the name

Of the One who sends sun, rain

To bless all on earth

Amen!

  7. Oh, Martha, that was so lovely. I love the sound of falling rain on the trees/leaves/rooftop. I wish I could hear that sound more often! We keep getting promises of rain, and then it skirts around us with nary a drop. We sure need it! Thank you for making me feel the rain in my thoughts. This was very calming.

    1. As I said to Terri, I'll be praying that y'all get the rain you need so badly, Pamela. And there is nothing like the soothing sound of falling rain to calm and inspire us in the knowledge that God is near.

    1. Hi, Lucinalva! My regular computer isn't working right now, and the laptop I'm using doesn't let me translate into English. I'll have my husband check it out. Just know that I appreciate you stopping by and leaving a comment. When Danny figures things out, I'll get back to you.

    2. I'm pretty "rusty" Ms. Martha Jane, but best I can, your friend writes, "Nice reflection, God sends the rain and the sun, we cannot enumerate his marvels, a big hug."

  12. Beautiful, Martha! I love the idea of listening for God's voice in the rain. During showers we can easily imagine his gentle, soothing voice reminding us of his refreshing Spirit and forever care. During a storm we can hear his powerful voice reminding us of his incomparable strength that he wields on our behalf. Thank you for inspiring such comforting images!

  16. This post is so like the rain it highlights--gentle, but nourishing and vital to the growth and maintenance of all that life is about. Thank you, my friend, for sending this quiet but profoundly important message to our hearts. I was late getting to it, but so glad I did. It's easy not to notice that the spiritual ground is getting a little dry. God bless you for the revitalizing shower.
