The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: "I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness." ~Jeremiah 31:3
I stand before the mirror
Where I see reflected
Past, present, future
Hopes not rejected
Forgiveness ample, kind
Acceptance here and now
Unfailing pledge of love
Promised by Your vow
Amen
Excellent poetry. Also true.
ReplyDeleteThanx Martha. God bless.

I am so glad God has unconditional love. Great way to say it.
ReplyDeleteWhat would we do without God's unconditional love, Bill? I know I'd be lost!

A question might be, who is the mirror?
ReplyDeleteThat's a great question, Glynn! It could be any of us, now, couldn't it?
DeleteLove and blessings!
This reminds me of a quote: "I look in the mirror through the eyes of the child that was me." Actually, I like yours better!
ReplyDeleteI've never heard that quote before, Myra, and I do like it, too. Very glad you enjoyed the poem!

So beautiful, Martha! I love that verse and needed the reminder that His love endures forever. Sending love and blessings to you today!
ReplyDeleteYou and me both, Cheryl! God's love will never fail us; we only fail ourselves when we refuse to see it.

Dearest Martha Jane,
ReplyDeleteStanding in front of the mirror for still being able to view: past—present—and future is a BLESSING!
While driving home from Atlanta yesterday, almost being home I heard an incoming message. Turned out it was one about our friends' son having passed away. He leaves wife and 11.5 year old son behind.
No more mirror views!
Hugs,
Mariette
Oh, dear, Mariette, what sad, sad news to hear! I will pray for his family and friends. They are left behind with a mirror view in front of them.

I Corinthians 13:11-13 11"When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.
ReplyDelete13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love."
When we look in a mirror, we only see what our human eyes can see. God looks at us and sees His beloved creation...all that we are and what we will be. It's all good.
Amen, Pamela, it's all good in the eyes of God. And I love those verses from 1 Corinthians, so I'm so glad you shared them here.
