For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities - his eternal power and divine nature - have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.
Breeze whispers
Breath of prayer
Leaves shudder
Trembling joy
In the presence
Of the One
Who is known
In creation
No excuse
Do we have
Not to know
Amen
In the presence
ReplyDeleteOf the One ...
These words reminded me of an experience many years ago. We were young, a group of people who went out to camp on holiday by the mountains. One morning, I foolishly got up early and climbed up by myself. No one knew where I was. I could have fallen and got hurt and no one would know. As I reached the top, I sat there. All alone. Looking at all around me. I could see as far away as possible for miles from up there. And in the quiet silence of a new morning, I believe I felt God's presence.
Thanx Martha. God bless.
Oh, what a moving memory you have shared here, Victor! There are those incredible times when we realize, with our full being, that we are in God's presence. That knowing is indescribable, and we never forget it.

One of the most common questions asked: how can those who never hear the message know there is a God? You have answered that question Martha. Thanks
ReplyDeleteThank you, Bill, for your kind words here. They mean so much to me!

Well said, dear Martha.
ReplyDeleteOr as the Psalmist said..
Psalm 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
No excuse.
May they have eyes to see ears to hear, heart to understand.. please LORD.

Yes, eyes to see and ears to hear and a heart to understand . . . Boy, does this world ever need those right now, Shaz! We will continue to pray.

Amen! That is so very true. God has made His existence and power known to us through His creation and His wondrous acts. We are without excuse. Praying for those who are blind to see before it is too late.
ReplyDeleteYes, Pamela, we do need to pray for those who simply don't see God in this world, and who don't feel the need for a Savior. Honestly, I don't understand how people like that even enjoy life at all. So sad!

so beautiful. I get sick of hearing and to be honest hearing myself too make excuses. God has called us to be faithful. He will take care of the rest. Thanks Martha!
ReplyDeleteYes, we can rest assured, Jean, that God will absolutely take care of the rest if we firmly plant our faith in Him.

I love the shudder I felt as I read your poem, Martha. The Spirit blows on through each of us; sometimes we're aware and sometimes not. I love when he wakes me up to awareness of his presence. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad the poem delighted you in this most meaningful way, Lisa. It is a glorious feeling when the Spirit makes His presence known.
