Will You Love Me?

Then she spoke out with a loud voice and said, "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!" ~Luke 1:42

Mommy, will you love me?

I know you didn't expect me

To be living with you

Safe and snug, protected

By your womb.  I'm growing

Day by day.  Are these

Days as precious to you

As they are for me?

Do you know I'm God-sent?

Can you reject His gift?

Oh, Mommy, please keep me!

Never let me go!

I want to know your love

And feel your arms embracing

The miracle that I am.

Amen.

  1. Dearest Martha Jane,
That is a perfect poem, speaking from the SOUL; the soul of a developing new baby.
And yet, those unborn babies seem to be in the most dangerous place on our planet...
May God protect them and as President Ronald Reagan said it so well:“I've noticed that everyone who is for abortion has already been born.”
    Hugs,
    Mariette

    1. Thank you, Mariette, for reminding us of that amazing quote from President Reagan (I still miss him!). Yes, these are dangerous times in this country, that is for sure. May God protect all of us.

  2. I was 21 when that badly-written and worse-reasoned decision was handed down. For many of us (including me), it barely pierced our consciousness; it was considered a "Catholic issue." But three years later, the landscape was changing for Christian attitudes and beliefs (including mine), and a least some of the credit should go to Francis Schaeffer and "How Should We Then Live?".

    1. That decision was made when I was a senior in high school. And I have to agree, it should have never been mandated by the court, but decided by individual state legislatures. What the current protestors fail to note is that abortion will not be stopped in its entirety just because Roe v. Wade is overturned. As usual, the left overreacts to anything which conservatives and Christians support. These are dangerous times in which we live, Glynn, that's for sure.

  6. Amen.. how grievous it is Martha to be a part of creation that kills its own babies... yet if we destroy a bird's nest we can be fined .. but Government pays to destroy babies and in Australia if any baby survives an abortion, it's actually in law that it MUST NOT BE GIVEN TREATMENT.

    It's CRIME? Unwanted. 😭😭😭😭🥱
Praying on. There are a few Christians standing up but few in number may in 21st May Federal election David slay Goliath again.. for the foes are indeed fearsome. May Righteousness prevail.
    Prsy with us please.

And happy Mum's Day too, Martha. ❤❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏

Thanks for sharing, and may God bless you and keep you and all whom you love safe and well.

  7. Such a blessing in your words this morning Ms. Martha. Painful to consider the emotions behind them, but grateful for your "voice in the wilderness" ma'am. God's blessings. We can't end what this world is choosing to do to itself, even though we have great influence in our little part of it. However, we know who does control all things.

    1. Yes, we certainly do know Who is always in control, J. D., and we can take comfort in that, especially in these trying times. I'm gratified that my words blessed you, my friend.

  9. Simply beautiful, Martha, and another uplifting encouragement to stand up for the life God grants. The lives sacrificed for unrestrained, boundless sexual gratification makes the human toll from the war in Ukraine look small. May God awaken us to the war that has cost more innocent human life than all of the ones we've fought.

  12. Even our "president" acknowledged it was a baby. It is a baby who feels and needs love and reassurance from its mother that all is well. Well said in this poem Martha.
