"Good, Good, Good, Good Vibrations . . ."

Mark 5:19
Jesus did not let him, but said, "Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you."

When something good happens in your life, do you keep it to yourself, or do you give a celebratory shout-out to family and friends?

If you are like me, you want to share your joy with others.

That's one aspect of being on Facebook that I love - reading posts from people who have news just too good NOT to be announced.

A pregnancy.  New job.  Vacation.  Promotion.  Engagement.  New home.  A puppy.  An award.  An unexpected gift.  A book published.

Good news on top of good news!

Shouted from the mountain top to lift up those in the valley.

Brightening a cloudy day.

Dancing like scintillating sunbeams on the lake of our hearts.

Good news!

Wants telling.  Needs telling.  Demands telling.

Spreads joy and love and laughter.

In a world which can be so dark at times.  And, cold.

And, unforgiving . . .

But, the good news of the one is rejoiced in by the many.

And, through its sharing, all are blessed.
~
Are you sharing your good news?  Are you telling others how the Lord has shown His mercy and favor toward you?

Will you pray with me?
Thank you, Father, for giving us the greatest and grandest good news of salvation through Your Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ.  May we never think twice about sharing the gospel with others.  Amen.

  1. This is Good News Martha :D I love sharing too and reflecting things with people. Some people make it so easy. But I guess not everything could be shared to 'everybody'.

  3. I like to share good news...not just the good but sometimes bad too, not to gain sympathy or anything...but, if it is a medical condition, people will share if they went through the same situation. You draw strength from others.
    Good news always spreads joy.

    1. Janaki, you are so right!
Sharing misfortunes or situations that call for prayer are so important, too. We do draw such strength from the support of others.
Thanks so much for dropping by today!

  4. Such a great reminder to share the good as well as the bad. Often, there is such focus on the bad news, the tragedy that we forget that there is much good and great news to share. Listen to a news report on tv or the radio ANY time and you'll see what I mean. There's another aspect to this: sometimes sharing our own good news feels like bragging: I just won an award or I just got a promotion or I just wrote a fabulous blog... We all need to learn to be as comfortable sharing our own good news as we are about sharing our bad news. Good news should be cause for celebration and praise to God for blessings. Thanks Martha for the good news of your blog!

    1. Thanks so much for stopping by, Lynne!
You are so right - we can teeter on sounding boastful when we share good news; it's all in how we express it. And, as you say, it should be cause for celebration and a chance to praise God publicly.
Thank you for your kind words about my blog! :)
      Blessings to you!

  5. Martha! This is such a positive and healthy way of viewing good news! Often times some folks are bragging rather than giving God the praise, but when we truly rejoice, it gives others hope that they too can be blessed! Thanks for always inspiring me with the word!

Lynne (see above) and you have expressed pretty much the same idea - good news is all about giving the thanks and praise to God - always! :)
So glad you find my posts inspiring. That is a great encouragement for me.
      Blessings to you!

    1. Thank you, Loddy, for taking time to check out my Daily Devotions. Your visit is most appreciated!
Honestly, I don't watch the news anymore on television because so much of it is simply bad and such a downer. Instead, I read articles on the internet to stay informed, but not be swamped by the negative.
I love to spread good news! And, it's always good news to have a new reader! :)
      Blessings to you!
